When it comes to fashion, everyone’s style is unique. There are those of us who eagerly rummage through the sales, trying to find that one item of clothing we can smugly say to friends “Oh this? £50 reduced to five, that’s ninety percent off!” and those who take pleasure in admitting they had to starve for a month in order to afford their new designer handbag. Of course, there are the more rational shoppers who dress in affordable, yet fashionable attire without the need to deprive themselves in anyway. Here at LoveForFashion, we take interest at how the general public is styling themselves, and so sent one of our journalists out on the streets of Canterbury to get the fashion low down.
“If I’m going to pay for quality clothing, I’d expect people to not have to ask me where it’s from.”
Lianne Carpenter, 19, another student at Canterbury University, is seen wearing a plain fitted t-shirt, layered with a checked shirt from New Look. Teamed with blue hotpants from H&M and strappy sandles from Topshop, her outfit is whilst casual, still perfectly suitable for that warm summers day. Liannes favourite shops are H&M and Topshop, as well as Jack Wills every "once and in a while".
"I don't follow one particular trend. I take inspiration from lots and from there put my own look together."
Gemma Rogers, 22, a shop assistant, is pictured wearing black New Look leggings paired with a plain black vest top. Her grey cardgian contrasts the dark colours, whilst she accessorizes with subtle yet effective pieces. Her favourite shops are Primark and Topshop, and says she can never resist a good bargin
"If something doesn't look as cheap as it actually was, i'll usually buy it!"
